Coast to Coast Book Marketing Campaign Launched by Diphra Enterprises

Seattle ALA meeting chosen to kick off 2013 sales thrust

Shakespeare looked closely at adolescent emotional fire in Romeo and Juliet… Modern audiences are used to seeing it modified into an adult framework. But they were in their early teens—children by modern rules and regulations. — Eldot

In cooperation with Xlibris Publishing, The Diphra produced series Julian’s Private Scrapbook is appearing in five book fair events during 2013. The premier event is this month in Seattle.

The American Library Association [ALA] midwinter meeting is the first to get a glimpse of Eldot’s pioneering series. The event at the Washington State Convention Center has been extensively redesigned to attract a wider range of exhibitors and members.

The annual midwinter event is January 25-29. An array of programs and special events draw librarians from across the country to discuss and explore the future of libraries and librarianship. The librarian elite is expected, 7,000 strong, from all facets of librarianship and information technology.

The growing awareness of the gay community and its changing place in American society makes this timely; this ambitious series about gay teens coming of age should be noticed by those that know all about books.

The fact that sexual issues and behaviors begin at a very young age is generally ignored, avoided or denied in our puritanical society. Officially it isn’t supposed to be addressed or dealt with until later—well after the issue arises in the life of any given individual. Training and knowledge in these matters is generally too little and too late.
Julian’s Private Scrapbook takes on the assignment, but with an unexpected twist or two: there is no villain. The primary objective is to supply an insight into adolescent behavior; the secondary objective is to have fun doing so. No gnashing of teeth, no anguish, no deforming wounds, no permanent scars. The reader is supposed to have fun in Camp Walker.
